EXCHEQUER CONTROL
1. Exchequer control is the mechanism of concurrent regularization of Cash outgo by each disbursing officer against the Cash content of the budget allotment.
2. The object of exchequer control is to establish a system for correct estimation of Cash outgo and to monitor disbursements.
3. It is important tool of Budgetary control.
4. In excise of Exchequer control the total allotments of the year are divided between “Cash” and “Adjustments”.
5. Success of Exchequer control greatly depends upon his distribution.
6. The Railway board issues quarterly Cash allotments to each Railway Administration and Railway Administration issues monthly Cash allotments to each Division/Workshop.
7. Each Railway Administration will report to the Railway board for actual disbursement during the quarter while asking Cash allotment for next quarter.
